Zainal Abidin Ahmad

Dr. Zainal earned his PhD degree in Management and Organization in the U.S. Being also a FCPA (Fellow of Certified Practising Accountant, Singapore) and FCMC (Fellow of Certified Management Consultant, Japan & Singapore), he began his career at the MayBank Group in Singapore, then Bank of Tokyo and UOB Bank, prior to joining the National Productivity Board (NPB), an agency of the Singapore Government, working on various national and industry level Business & Transformation, Entrepreneurship and Productivity Development Projects.

In the late 1980s he went on to the Asian Productivity Organization as its Technical Expert (TES). For more than 20 years since 1989, he had been seconded as TES Advisor to the Governments of Brunei, Indonesia, I.R. of Iran and Thailand. He advised and assisted them in developing national and industry strategies and action plans for business excellence, enterprise, human capital and productivity development.

In the mid 1900s, with almost 20 years of industry, consulting and training experience, he left the Singapore Government to establish his own APG Consulting & AqilQisti Technology Groups, with offices in Brunei Darussalam, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.

He served for 6 years as Vice President of International Business at PSB Academy Group, after that he joined the UAE Academy Abu Dhabi in 2009 where he successfully led and spearhead the Academy’s Consulting team in various national and organizational projects in key government departments and agencies.

During this period, he set up and became the first CEO of the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, and agency of the Abu Dhabi Government, managing a multi-billion AED fund to promote entrepreneurship and business start-ups in Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Today Dr. Zainal is an LLC partner and responsible for the regions of Asia and the office in Singapore.
